Bodybilt by ErgoGenesis History

Established in 1987, ErgoGenesis is a leader in the ergonomic seating industry and the manufacturer of BodyBilt seating and accessories. The entire BodyBilt product portfolio is manufactured in the company’s facility in Navasota, Texas and designed for use in the office, home, laboratory, industrial settings, or wherever a need exists for products that are comfortable and ergonomic.
ErgoGenesis responds to the most dramatic feature of the natural body posture, which was discovered by NASA, and that is the extremely “open” angle between the torso and the thighs. BodyBilt models are designed to help users emulate that natural, stress-free posture the human body assumes in weightlessness. BodyBilt chairs feature a minimum of ten different adjustments to permit the chair to accommodate from the fifth percentile small female to the ninety-fifth percentile large male in ergonomically correct postures.
To accommodate users of varying shapes and sizes, BodyBilt chairs are designed with a lumbar support that is both height adjustable and inflatable. Lumbar support is extremely important in minimizing incidences of lower back pain and repetitive stress injuries among employees whose tasks require static postures for extended periods of time. Backrest and seat cushions utilize triple density foam, which support the sitter in a comfortable, ergonomically correct posture while reducing the amount of pressure felt by the buttock-thigh area. Adjustments are made with levers and all the most frequently-used adjustments are available for each sitter’s style and use, from seat height, seat tilt, backrest angle, knee tilt to synchro-tilt.
To complement the ergonomic function, comfort, quality, and ease of use of their products, ErgoGenesis is committed to using earth-friendly components. ErgoGenesis is one of the first manufacturers in the industry to incorporate the use of BioFlex™ foam in their chairs. BioFlex™ foam is made of a soybean derivative as opposed to petroleum products and is extremely comfortable and durable. Recycled fabrics are another of their earth-friendly components. Also, their fabric selection includes post-consumer recyclable content.
Environmental sustainability is also achieved through their unique “Modularity Factor,” which extends the functional life of the chair. Their modularity promotes a custom fit for each individual, regardless of their shape or size and allows reconfiguring of seating to meet physical or medical needs as well as changing task requirements. This interchangeability provides quick, simple service, repair or part replacement, minimizes downtime and maximizes the useful life of the chair.
